If anything, the politics of mainstream games have gotten more cowardly and shallow. I mean look at how crazy the early AC games were building up to a "take down the powers" ending before they effing ran away from their own thematics. Squeenix in particular used to have stuff going on in their games, but have somehow managed to completely drop the ball of saying anything with Hitman and Deus Ex. Hell their bread and butter went from being… eco-terrorist friendly in 7 to an utter fucking void in 15.

It's generally the monetization schemes ruining games. Shooty games are in battle pass nightmare-hell and if you don't like battle royals, fuck you. Online modes rake in money so fuck expansions. Remakes having cash shops inserted post-launch. And hey, certain games don't actually have complete endings 'cause DLC has to sell. And then there's the corp-mandated live services.

Far as politics and the like goes, I wouldn't be surprised at it being shallow. One could say what they want with Ubisoft in how their games are actually political despite Ubi saying otherwise but I wouldn't be surprised if the whole depth of it was just shallow in ripping from the headlines and taking a theme and not doing much else with it that could go deeper. Then again all I played from them was Watch_Dogs 2 and For Honor and all I can feel with Watch_Dogs 2 was more of how a hypocrite I could be in swatting people despite a mission saying the protag hates swatters. For Squeenix, I can only imagine the eco-terrorist thing can only stay with 7 and its related games but everything else just becomes a re-write like previous games. Then again, I can only know 15 as a long car trip compared to the other games after 7 which likely had more depth.

One other video game related unpopular opinion I got would be some controversies that occurred with games like IRL war crimes in Modern Warfare 2019. I honestly just felt like eh when I heard it compared to others making hot takes on it and thought the whole multiplayer unlockable on white phosphorous was dumb since the games gave you a tactical nuke. Only thing to kinda make it sound more insufferable was bringing up Spec Ops the Line as a comparison which honestly, I can see how that game is great but it all just sounded more like Redditors and Twitter posters going off. I can see how the game had crap writing and with how they handle stuff, it'd no doubt be crap as well. Also gonna include other controversies like pre-release controversies on games like Hogwarts having goblins as key bad guys and CP2077's translady with a big dick ad. I may as well be an ass for not really looking further into them but I felt like the controversies on them sounded like a nothingburger since I couldn't really see goblins in HP as anti-semitic caricatures though I can imagine Rowling screwed up in not giving them more depth and with CP2077, I only assume that since it's a cyberpunk game, it's gonna be an exploitive capitalist society that objectifies everything for profit.

One other thing to include with unpopular opinions I have may as well just be with Last of Us 2 though since this relates more on what I see from Twitter, one could note it's just Twitter but to the point: I wouldn't doubt the game itself looks alright while liking the memes people made like a kid getting punched fat Geralt or the Abby strangles but both sides towards the game itself just end up being the bigger fools in it. Love or hate the game, that's fine. What I find dumb are people going "Cuckman" or raging about Abby with some transphobia on one side and the other side going on how the game is actually great just because it won awards and showing footage that honestly doesn't really make it look any more appealing than other popular third person shooters and the like. I feel like fans and anti-fans (if that can even be a word) for a thing just makes it all look more like two idiots having a slap fight.

"The haters will be transphobic and call the creator a cuck, the fans will tell you the game is great"

I will be honest, not the most balanced "both sides" I have seen.

And tbh this brings me to my "unpopular" opinion at least in places I hang out, the whole controversy about TLOU2 was very stupid, I cant believe such an aggressively ok game could create such anger. Even today some people talk about the game like it executed farmers in Colombia.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if TLOU 2 was at least decent but I can only imagine it managed to create such anger because you have idiots on both sides keep going at it. Like yeah go on about Abby being queen or Joel being actually a good dad or whatever there is with this game but seriously, everything after the 4chan memes just comes off as obnoxious, whether it's fans saying how the game is better than others or how Abby isn't real woman or how Abby is a real woman and anyone not liking her is some incel or Joel's actually terrible and her dad's group had a noble goal or whatever it was. It's all obnoxious, even the gifs Druckman had made since the one I seen just ooze "smug douche." Fans aren't helping if they go into some unrelated game and say how great TLOU 2 is compared to "your ps2 looking game." Saw this with Elden Ring when someone noticed merchants having a violin animation and some guy brought up TLOU 2 being better in the most obnoxious way.

Still waiting for someone to just do a virgin vs chad meme though in Ellie and Abby being the virgin while Clementine from Walking Dead is the chad.

I dont know about that man, the ratio of positive/negative comments on the game was heavily skewed towards the latter, though once again it may just be the places I lurk around, here the discussion was heated. It all started with the leaks that got backlash for the quality of the plot points, the crunch time of the game and other things, like there being a trans character, that many though was Abby but it end up being Lev.

And after that the ball just rolled downstairs.

In all honesty though with TLOU 2 in being in some of my post, I've been seeing more of slapfights over it within Twitter where it seems like at some point someone acts like an ass over the game, whether they're for or against it. I wouldn't be surprised at it having it share of problems like writing, crunch, and all that but even then I never really paid much attention or cared for the game beyond seeing how the ball rolled when the game came out. After it had well-rolled, I still manage to see people on Twitter go on about it that at this point where you could still get some obnoxious post. I feel like it's just fanboys being obnoxious and saying how a single article they have as a screenshot is proof or overreacting in their take on some other game having instrument playing animations while some haters go into a rather shit direction like throwing "cuckman" around and any acting transphobic or whatever there is. Other than that, I just imagine at best the game may just be an okay game at best but as I mentioned in a previous post, games like it or God of War and the like don't really capture my attention.

As for other unpopular opinions:

-I wanna add a point on what Mistress Fortune said on people unironically agreeing with Armstrong: aside from some anarchist society where Armstrong has an unfair advantage, I feel the reason people even end up unironically agreeing with him is because he's a social darwinist villain that managed to stand out as a character and in being a sort of meme. Most social darwinist I see in a game or see mentioned just come off as smug villains who make me want to roll my eyes. Armstrong managed to stand out at least in being someone that actually fought me with his fist, had a pretty good soundtrack attached to him, and managed to be a face in some memes like his angry face used for 100% mad style memes. I legit love him as a villain and for a social darwinist, he's one that didn't sound like some droning cliche of smugness that throws a crappy speech about compassion being for the weak or whatever. Armstrong instead just says "fuck American pride" and goes on about wanting to rebuild society where he explicitly says "the weak are gonna die." He may of had a point in society being screwed thanks to war and the war economy done by AI's and all but as Mistress said, dude's heavily augmented and being in his society would be shit even if you were to join him since you'd likely end up a brain in a jar to a cyborg.

I was never a big fan of the Darwin Awards as a concept. Sure, there's schadenfreude to a degree for some of them, but once in a while, it feels kind of mean to a few of the victims families. Like, I get it, sometimes people do something stupid enough to get themselves killed, but giving them a posthumous award for "removing themselves from the gene pool" seems kind of a dick-move.

looks at thread title
Also TLOU 1 wasn't and isn't that good either. You just didn't notice it at the time because the story was fresh-ish. Revists to the game from what I've seen are harsher than the criticisms of Bioshock: Infinite, which is an infamous punching bag.

I mean, Acane is a Netflix anime about a moba and they do the parental/do it for her thing so much better

Bioshock infinite while overated during its time…is not bad, I would argue its a fairly good game. I really enjoyed the story and gameplay and I dont think its that much of a downgrade compared to previous bioshock entries, hard to compare to rapture but its still pretty solid. I rank bioshock 1 higher but I think infinite is substancially better than bioshock 2 at least story wise.

The main problem however I have with the game, and I know its a hot take, is that Elizabeth is a TERRIBLE person for what she did, she is kind of the worst by the end of the game and I am not supposed to think this.

I believe you were supposed to have the thought "I HAVE to kill her." In your head towards the end of the game. By the time of Songbird's death you're supposed to be scared about what this annoying entitled girl whose head has been thoroughly fucked with will do. It doesn't come across well because of structural problems about the use of violence etc that are well-trodden.

Still works better than TLOU1.

With mention of Bioshock, I may as well say this: much as the series has made its mark in terms of writing such as how the first game managed to make some story twist in your objectives and doing them all tying into the protag being a Manchurian candidate via a code phrase and Infinite doing its take on American exceptionalism and people liking Elizabeth and people making rule 34 of her, I couldn't really get much into the series. The games have their share of fun but I found System Shock 2 to be a more enjoyable experience. The first System Shock itself is clunky and its controls no doubt aged like milk but even then I find the first game to be somewhat more interesting than Bioshock though granted, that's more on me being interested in older games I saw on a channel called G4 when I was a kid. Since I mentioned the whole "Twitter and politics in gaming" thing since Bioshock is used as one of the examples, I'd find one should use System Shock 2 as a better and fresher example when considering how you get the likes of corrupt corporate executives making ways in screwing up bad enough that everyone manages to suffer from a horrible outbreak in space that lead to the build up in power of a malevolent figure.

A genuinely unpopular gaming opinion, but I didn't love Elden Ring.

In the list of Fromsoft games, I'd rank it above DS2. To be frank, I just think the games is unnecessarily big which hurts pacing and flow and the amount of recycled bosses & dungeons is a bummer. I'm pretty diligent in games and I like to explore ever nook and cranny. As a result of this, I became immensely overpowered and mopping out new areas I haven't been to has become more of a tedious chore opposed to exciting discovery. This obviously come from a personal preference, but I prefer games to be more concise/focused than open-ended. A great antithesis to Elden Ring would be Sekiro. While not my favorite, I still enjoyed it a lot more in comparison.

I still think Elden Ring is a good game and I am impressed at how grand it is, but it's little too much for me.

It might be due to not caring as much about things as I age, but sexualization of fictional minors doesn't bother me that much. It doesn't help that the biggest crusaders against sexualized minors often end up being hypocrites or predators themselves.

People should understand why certain double standards exist in the first place, even if one doesn't agree with them. Many underestimate the strength difference between men and women, which is why women are given more leeway. Perverted and more sexually aggressive women are typically viewed more favorably than their male counterparts because it's much more expected for men to be crude, aggressive perverts. There is also a wish-fulfillment aspect to it, with femdom appealing to many people's fantasies.

With that being said, many fail to realize the privilege that women have in Western countries. Girls do better in school, with most university and medical school graduates being women. They have far more supports in place than males who are expected to coast on their male privilege. This is while Academia promotes a perpetual victimhood in females that causes them a great deal of stress and instills a fear of men. Perhaps this is my ignorance showing, but I cannot say that female sex appeal is used that much in Western advertisements and media compared to 20 years ago.

I'd say that was because TLOU2 embodied a lot of common issues in the video game industry :

- The game was announced much too early – to generate hype, I imagine, but over time it was clear that it attracted people who wanted to start shit. The kiss at E3 for example which now feels like a precursor to what would come afterwards.
- Since their marketing was failing, to try and get the game out sooner, Naughty Dog decided to take it out on their employees by making them crunch.
- The poor working conditions ultimately led to someone leaking the game. This is where the controversy starts, leading Sony to be on full damage control and striking down videos talking about the game.
- The leaks lead to a lot of hearsay, including a politically motivated rumor that Abby was trans – linking the negativity surrounding the game with transgenderism for no reason whatsoever.
- Reviews are out and completely contrast with the popular opinion, showing a strong disconnect with video game publications and the audience. Reviewers and people working in the industry take it to Twitter to insult detractors.
- This all adds up to a really toxic debate. Opinions of the game are turned manichean, where criticism is painted as transphobia and support as agreeing with Naughty Dog's terrible practices.

All this for a game that would've been relevant for two weeks tops if not for the TLOU branding. All it was missing was predatory monetization practices and TLOU2 would've summed up every issue in the industry.

The most troubling part for me was seeing Twitter threads basically stating "Give money to Naughty Dog or they may not pay the employees they've abused all this time". It's honestly sad that we've reached that point.

I hate the term "person of colour"

Two reasons for this:
A) It's just "coloured person" but reversed (seriously, who thought this was a good idea???)

B) I've seen far too many people who use this phrase in sentences to spew hate or engage in other terminally online behaviours

Ditto.

It's a blanket term that isn't really any better than the word it was meant to replace. Lumping together minorities of wildly varying ethnic, racial, cultural, religious, linguistic, and cultural boundaries for the sole reason that they are "non white" comes off as equally mindless and arrogant.

I'll grant this may not be all that unpopular but good lord I hate Hero Hei and Rev Says Desu. They're just the weeb versions of Keemstar as far as I'm concerned, stirring up shit and making a bigger deal than needed over literal Twitter nobodies. What's especially got me annoyed though is how they've basically sent their idiot fans at a vtuber I like because she asked people to not use "trap" when referring to trans people. Like man these fucks are doing absolutely no favors for the "Japanese culture enthusiast" community.

I would've agreed if it weren't for the fact that Finana said that the word "trap" is a disrespectful slang to describe trans women when that's not even remotely true at all.

Yes, calling any trans woman a trap would be considered rude and disrespectful as hell, but the word itself is not a offensive slang and it has no relation to anything trans-related whatsoever. It has always been a word to describe or even compliment feminine male cross-dressers.

Also she didn't ask people lmao. She was going to ban the word completely, which would cause a lot of problems since the word trap has more than 10 meanings (trap door, trap music, booby traps, you get what I mean). It would've been better if she banned the word and then say she doesn't feel comfortable with how the word was being used in chat during one of her streams. It would've been totally understandable.

I sort of(?) agree

Don't watch hero hei but rev has covers too much drama/twitter takes for my liking. Or at least, sometimes. It seems to be a bit of an ebb and flow with him in that regard. But then again I only watch his videos every now and then so I'm not super informed about video quantity and content.

I don't have anything against rev honestly, but sometimes I just get sick of seeing him talk about twitter.

I’ll concede the “educate yourself” bit on twitter wasn’t the best choice of words even though I’m sure she meant no I’ll will (though trust me this is hardly the worst I’ve seen from some people on twitter when it comes to this topic). Also did you typo or something? Because what you said in your final sentence somewhat contradicts the one before it. And she did explain herself in a way I thought was fine in a stream. My biggest problem is the fans of people like Hei and Rev are not trying to properly explain how they don’t agree with Finana, most of them are being downright jerks who are saying shit like “fucking alphabet people ruining our glorious anime, they deserve all the shit they get” and also hate raiding her streams in a way that’s not much different from when Chinese antis invaded Coco Kiryus streams after the whole Taiwan fiasco. After Coco and a few others it’s just so disheartening to see vtubers I like being harassed after something that wasn’t THAT big of a deal.

Sorry for the double post and still going on about the same topic but an update on what I just ranted about:

Finana released a serious talk video last night that I only just noticed and said she agrees the "educate yourself" tweet was a bit too far and said she's not gonna ban "trap" from her chat anymore (also explaining further why she had an issue to begin with). But still the harassment and hate raids she received was still absolutely not okay at all, did the vtuber fans who stuck up for Coco after the Taiwan situation learn nothing?

Next post I make on this thread I'll hopefully talk about something else.

Okay I lied I'm still on the shit from this morning. I know YouTube comments in general are just as bad as Twitter but looking at comments on Hei and Rev's videos and then some of the comments on Finana's video I've decided that yep weebs were a mistake, just fucking burn all of us.

But actual new unpopular opinion: as much as I love Resident Evil 4, I disagree that a remake "wasn't necessary." For one they can include some needed quality of life improvements like being able to swap weapons with the d-pad like every game that came directly after RE4, and being able to move while aiming (as RE4 still has the old fashioned "main character is locked in place while aiming" mechanic that was mainly in the fixed camera games). Also RE4 was the game where the series began to veer much more away from horror to begin with, so reimagining it with the horror elements of the beta or the more recent modern entries can make for a remake that would satisfy those who wish Capcom kept the more eerie elements of the beta.

As someone who doesn't know who this is (I don't really follow vtubers whatsoever, tbh) I think I have an idea as to why people got so upset: it made her come off as an outsider, someone who's only really in weeb spaces for the clout. The people who only really get upset about the word "trap" are people who run tangential to anime communities at the most. And given that there are some people who are getting upset over what was the suggested "replacement" word, "femboy", it feels more like an attack on men who run against traditional gender roles than anything else. Also, apparently she's made jokes about people with HIV before, but she draws the line at a neutral term referring to crossdressing, girly anime boys?!?

Anyway, as for my own unpopular opinion. It's sorta minor, but still: while Gravity Falls was great, many of its successor shows have borrowed elements secondary to what made it so great a few too many times. Specifically, the archetypes of the "highly energetic and optimistic girl" (Mabel, Luz, Molly) and the "snooty rich girl with a hidden heart of gold" (Pacifica, Amity, Andrea). They're a bit cliché, really. The shows that take these elements aren't bad by any means, but there should be more variety.

Given that Western otaku have existed for around 40 years at this point, it's not too surprising that subculture would also include young adults indoctrinated in varying degrees with alphabet ideology. I'm disappointed with Finana for falling for such sophistry. I miss when femboys (or otoko no kko) where just eccentric or cute characters and not wrapped up in the whole gender theology. Alas, such types live off of being perpetually offended.

Speaking of taking offence, I never knew of blackface or Black Sambo until I was 15. Characters like Mr. Popo and the original Jynx did not register as "black people" to me as a child because of how inhuman they look and how tangential their connection to black culture really is. Moreover, my hometown of St. Paul, MN has a suburb called Coon Rapids (the town uses many images of racoons), so the notion of coon referring to black people comes off as very archaic. Most people have no idea who Zip Coon was or know what "cooning" is. I won't be surprised if spook becomes offensive too, given its use many years ago--despite it being associated with ghosts these days.

On another note, I hate how we are so scared to be frank about sexual crimes and treat them as mostly the same. we cannot even use the words rape or sexual assault without people crying (just wait until they read about canola oil.) There is also the whining about dark jokes about such things.

The point is that Academia needs to wrangle its grievance studies departments under control.

I'm a vtuber fan and I dunno if we're at kpop stan level yet, but I'll concede that yes we've got some annoying fans. And speaking as someone who loves the Hololive talents, I will admit Hololive stans/elitists are probably the most annoying as I've seen them in the comments sections for those two YouTubers I mentioned earlier that I don't particularly like (Hero Hei and Rev Says Desu) and THIS specific group of Hololive fans do annoying crap like take literally any opportunity to shit on any agency that's not Hololive. Like using the recent Finana controversy (something that frankly died within a day of it happening when Finana later said she was sorry for the "educate yourself" tweet and is NOT going to ban "trap" from chat, and I hate seeing people treating her apology the same way they would treat an apology from someone like Logan Paul) as a way to shit on Nijisanji as a whole by accusing Nijisanji of having "fake weebs" or some such shit, or shitting on all Western vtuber indies anytime only one or two indies do something unpopular.

This SPECIFIC group of Hololive stans seems to be comprised of "classic weeaboos." By this I mean the old school "thinks Japan and literally anything relating to Japanese culture is infinitely superior to everything else and if you say otherwise they will harass you to no end" definition. Like nowadays most people who call themselves "weebs" are generally people who use it as a silly ironic term of endearment to mean "yeah I like anime and other Japanese stuff, guess I'm a weeb, lol" (even dudes who used to decry "weeaboo" under the "classic" definition like Gaijin Goombah now fully embrace it under it's modern ironic usage), but I think Hololive stans like the ones you see in Hero Hei or Rev Says Desu comment sections are people who DON'T call themselves "weebs" by the modern ironic definition, but rather the classic unironic "thinks Japan is literally better than anything else" definition.

Like I said I love the Hololive talents and have no bad things to say about any of them really, but the elitist fans are the kind of people that make me go "you guys would only make the girls and Yagoo sad."

it's morally okay to make fun of vtuber fans when they're acting like egotistical piece of shit

While I am late in the reply, I will say this as a fan of Elden Ring, I can say in regards to how one can be overpowered, I'd like to bring up the opposite in enemeis being overpowered or at least coming off as cheap once you reach a certain point in the game. While I don't mind bosses and dungeons being recycled, enemies after a certain point in the game can end up being annoying in damage output even with a better suit of armor. The red albinaurics and mangy giant crows in the Mohgwyn Dynasty area, and even gargoyle's can end up being annoying (the spiky cartwheels, big albinarics with laser shooting skeletons, and said crows being way too fast come to mind). I tackled this area in around the 110-140 range and even with a heavy set worn at medium encumbrance, I'd still be screwed. Same applies to things like Malenia's waterfowl dance, in how it just feels more like a cheap move from the boss even with tips people gave out. Even with a character that was able to mop up Malenia, there's still enemies that manage to be annoying in a fight that would lead to a few deaths like the Bell Bearing Hunter encounter in Caelid. I wouldn't be surprised if one consequence from the more open-world of Elden Ring was enemies at a certain point ended up being poorly balanced in certain regions and areas even with all one could do in "git gud."

I don't even care much for how toxic or not "git gud" but I legit believe that From Software, no matter what game they make, can still end up having that one moment where things can be cheap, whether its in Elden Ring or other games they made like Dark Souls where 4 Kings was cheap once you realize how much New Game+ can screw one over and you got all four in the boss arena. Other than that though, one other unpopular opinion I got as an observer was seeing the Demon's Souls remake was that I liked some older versions of the soundtrack better. I don't care what anyone says about Flamelurker's remake theme, I thought the original was better and was disappointed it didn't slowly shift to that near the end of his track.

I thoroughly believe that everyone should own a gun. But notice that I say just a gun, as I would also say ammo is optional. United States was built different from any other nation, and we were created by a court of mad lads with a bunch of black powder. So to see most people asking to remove a right that everyone can invoke is ridiculous.

But what people also forget that gun rights can protect other rights and that includes trans rights, women’s rights, etc. Self-defense is universal and with the piss-poor execution by Uvalde’s finest shittiest should open eyes for everyone on both sides. It is imperative to acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety. Not the government, nor the cops, just you.

I’ll end it with a piece of news that I am certain will not be covered by KYM. There was another active shooter incident that happened at a mall in Indiana. Thankfully, a good Samaritan was able to put a stop to it. Three people tragically died but the body count could have been worse if not for this man’s quick decision.

Progressivism and conservatism need each other to thrive. Society not only needs a balance of phases of both to remain healthy, but each phase needs a strong counterculture of its opposite to remain grounded in reality. Going without strong dissent for too long, or merely being perpetuated for too long, causes a loss of coherent goals and a growing inability to grasp what the common people value and are willing to accept.

@Eris
Those scenarios lead to practically the same outcome, so I don't think the reason why the oppressive ideology seeks to oppress you is all that important in the end. Especially since, nowadays, hatred for "being privileged" is often just a different framing of hatred for being the wrong race or nationality.

This may not be an unpopular opinion, but literary analysis (and most of Shakespeare) should be left to elective classes in anglophone countries. English classes should be about the English tongue itself. Children should know the parts of speech as well as how the various inflections and constructions work--basically grammar. A basic overview of historical forms and grammar would help them with understanding other languages too (in which case, teaching the International Phonetic Alphabet may help). Moreover, teaching proper punctuation would be a must.

Of course, expecting teachers to do anything but push ideology is expecting a lot these days. It's amazing how underprepared for post-secondary education most students are. Not that it matters much, given how ideological and intolerant of dissent most universities are (insert quip about the irony of those pushing tolerance being intolerant here.)

I swear, most of your posts sound straight off of fox news

For my unpopular opinion, not sure how unpopular it actually is, but imo the rebuilds are garbage compared to NGE, the only thing they did better was Ramiel

He's got a point, though. The most vital thing that there is to be taught is the core of the language itself. Literary analysis is important as well, but forcing it to share time with grammar diminishes the quality of both, which is worse for literary analysis than it is for grammar; half-assing it leads to things like the unusually polarized discussion about "the curtains are blue". Though it may not be the right move to sequester it off to an elective entirely, as a proper understanding of literary analysis can be useful.

There is also, indeed, an issue with overly political teachers. I'd say it has the same origin as the (much less controversial) issue with terribly incompetent teachers: K-12 teacher jobs pay jack shit. There's only two types of people likely to stay in a job like that for extended periods of time: people who are highly passionate and those who are incapable of going anywhere better. Passion is a double-edged sword; it's how you get the best teachers, but also the worst ones. Some are passionate about teaching. Others are passionate about their ideology, and seek to use their position to recruit their class(es) into it. This isn't the only issue at play, but I think it's the most straightforward one.

I think reading comprehension should be the focus because I swear most people have the skills of a toddler. And your ideology side rant is pretty random lol

Also, for my opinion, parents were right, the internet rotted our brains

I guess making it an elective only would not be the best, but we certainly don't need to devote nearly all of highschool/secondary school English classes to literature. Much of it was like a glorified book club with some vocabulary tests here and there. I didn't even know how to use a semicolon and often made comma splices until I took a college-level composition class. Short stories would be better for analysis as they would not require so much of students' time. Furthermore, Shakespeare's work should be taught in a historical context with stuff about the grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary to help students understand the plots and wordplay better (with a deep dive into his work being an elective.)

I like that there are multiple championship belts in boxing. It gives boxers more opportunities and championship unification fights make for really interesting matchups among the best boxers of the division. It's the corrupt nature of all these sanctioning bodies, promoters, etc. that make it hard for boxing fans to enjoy them.

Bit late and I'm pretty much a straight, cisgendered guy but even with some stereotypical SJW type being annoying and the like (thinking back to the early/mid 2010's with Tumblr and its share of idiots), they at the very least aren't some raging asshole who thinks every trans person must be like Chris-Chan or some disgusting individual they saw on the news (that may not even be free of bias and the like) and screeches at the existence of a trans flag in some random area in a video game. At the very least I imagine with the worst of a stereotypical "SJW" I'd just imagine it's someone flipping their shit at their own interpretation of some cartoon character or a white guy in a kimono. Meanwhile, stereotypical alt-righter would just think letting a Muslim into the US means said Muslim must be some kind of rapist and not some guy just trying to flee from a shitty tyrant and the like.

@Misspelled Tiger
As someone dived into looking at all the things there was to Chris-Chan, I feel like Chris was right in the internet making us "autistic" or something along those lines. For all the internet could offer us in knowledge and information, we also get all the things that would cause brainrot and the like.

Mutahar of SomeOrdinaryGamers can have some takes I'd call "based" at times, but other times he comes off like a smug prick. In regards to him bragging about how he likes to pirate games from a certain company (do I even need to say it?), all I can say is this: don't be surprised if fans of a game or company dislike you if you openly admit to pirating their games because in their eyes what you're doing is bragging you're hurting sales, not giving the developers the money they deserve for making the game to begin with, and hurting the games chances of getting a sequel.

Are you talking about his recent video?

He didn't support piracy in that video, except in cases where you can't buy the game from the developer anymore because it's been discontinued, so the developers wouldn't be getting money from you buying it regardless. He outright stated that he's buying the games from local stores, putting it into a modded Switch, dumping it as a ROM file and emulating it on a Steam Deck. He isn't giving it to other people, he isn't posting the ROMs online for anyone to download, he isn't hacking the eShop to download stuff for free, he's buying the physical game legitimately from the game stores in his area. In fact he disavowed piracy, except in the case that the game is impossible to obtain otherwise due to being discontinued, delisted or something similar.
